Sir Jim Ratcliffe is ready to table a formal bid for Man Utd ownership.

According to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News), Sir Jim Ratcliffe is still interested in a bid to take over the ownership at Man Utd. He could present a formal offer in the coming days.

Radcliffe has been a lifelong United supporter and was in the running for Chelsea’s ownership before Todd Boehly took over the reins but he has shown of having the financial capacity to run a football club.

It is claimed that Britain’s richest man could send a bid in the region of £8b to the Glazers family. Although some suggest that £4b could be enough to convince the Glazers to give up their ownership after eighteen years.

The Glazier’s ownership has been nothing but turmoil for the club and has brought down the standards of the institution to a level no one would have anticipated.

On top of that, our rivals in Manchester City, Chelsea and now Newcastle United have been spending cash to support the club on-field rather than take money out of the club. Over the past eighteen years, the Glazers have taken over £1b worth of dividends from the club and are the only owners in the Premier League to adopt such a practice.

After numerous fan protests and criticism from all over with regard to the functioning of the ownership adding to the extra financial pressure that is required to be at the top of the football pyramid, the family is ready to sell its ownership at a fee acceptable to them.

Dubai has been touted as one of the other interested parties but it seems like Jim Radcliffe has taken a march on other interested bidders and is ready to test the Glazer’s resilience with a formal bid.

Ideally, it would be a tremendous choice to have an individual who has supported the club since childhood take over the ownership as he would feel exactly how every other fan would and hence would take necessary actions to bring the club back to the top.

Many speculate a full sale of the ownership by the first financial quarter of 2023 and hence the coming days would give us a better idea of the direction in which the club is headed.
