“Fish Hook Ant” Very rare, It has sharp hooks attached to spine for predator repellent

The Fish Hook Ant is an extremely dangerous creature. One ant by itself can cut a human and hold on.

It adapts because of predators. It is extremely rare. Their adaptation is three razor sharp fish hook-like claws.

This beast can grow up to 1.5cm. It can hook on to two other Fish Hook Ants to attack or survive.

They have three curved spines that react as claws.

It adapts because of the harsh environment.

– Description –

Fish-hook ants are a light reddish-brown species of ant. However, they have something special about them.

They have a curved spine, with three-four dagger sharp hooks. Their size is around 1.5cm.

– Defense from predators –

As I said above, the fish-hook ant has sharp hooks attached to its spine.

These hooks act as a predator repellent, so rarely those hungry creatures will bite down.

If they are stupid enough to bite that ant, the ant will jerk around and cut up the inside of the predators mouth.

This adaption has helped the ants grow their colony larger and feed their queen with less risks

– Location –

This ant species is found around the Phillipines, Java, Laos, Sumatra, India and China

– Diet –

These guys don’t have a strict diet. They eat almost anything that they can find, whether it be other ants, plants, etc.

Common or rare?

Sadly the fish-hook and is a very rare species.

Nobody knows why it’s numbers are so small, and so far no actions have been taken to fix it, so there is a possibility that it will become extinct.
