S-Hawk is modeled after Dracule Mihawk, a Warlord who never had a Devil Fruit power, but that doesn’t mean he can’t still have a useful ability.

It was revealed in One Piece Chapter 1068, “A Genius’ Dream,” that S-Bear can use Paw-Paw powers, just like Bartholomew Kuma. This implies that the other Seraphim can also use the Devil Fruits of the Warlords each of them was modeled after. However, not all of the Warlords had Devil Fruit powers.

Chapter 1065, “Six Vegapunks,” suggested that the Seraphim whose Warlords didn’t have a Devil Fruit were given a power that suited them. For example, S-Shark, Jimbei’s Seraph, was given the Swim-Swim Fruit; Fish-Men like Jimbei are not only fast swimmers, but they can use Fish-Man Karate in tandem with this Devil Fruit as it liquefies surfaces. This could mean that S-Hawk, Dracule Mihawk’s Seraph, was also given a Devil Fruit that would work well with it. As for what that power could be, there have been several powers presented throughout the One Piece canon that could work.

What Devil Fruits Would a Swordsman Want?

It’s important to keep in mind what Devil Fruits the Seraphim would be able to have in the first place. However they got their powers, the prevailing theory is that they can only have powers that were accessible by the Marines and the World Government. This would not only include the powers of the Warlords but also captured pirates and commanding Navy officers; if they didn’t have this limitation in resources, then every Seraphim could just be given one of the Emperor’s Devil Fruit powers. Regardless, this still gives S-Hawk a wide variety of options to choose from.

The Devil Fruit power S-Hawk uses depends on his style of fighting. As a swordsman, he would probably prefer a power that involves cutting or stabbing. Thus, he might use something like Daz Bonez’s Dice-Dice Fruit or Zala’s Spike-Spike Fruit. The String-String Fruit is also a possibility, though that power may be reserved for a Doflamingo-based Seraph. In any case, if S-Hawk had a power like this, using it would come fairly naturally to him.

If S-Hawk would rather depend on his sword to cut things, there are plenty of Devil Fruits that can be used with one. Unfortunately, most of these powers are in the hands of pirates not in Marine custody; this includes Brook’s Revive-Revive Fruit, Buggy’s Chop-Chop Fruit, Trafalgar Law’s Op-Op Fruit, Gecko Moria’s Shadow-Shadow Fruit, and Charlotte Smoothie’s Wring-Wring Fruit. They should, however, have Diamante’s Ripple-Ripple Fruit available.

A Logia Fruit might also work for S-Hawk. Like Smoker, he could use his amorphous body to extend his physical reach and confound his targets. Unfortunately for the World Government, there aren’t a lot of canon Logia Fruits available for this purpose. Those of Smoker, the Admirals, and the Fleet Admiral might be available, but it depends on how the Devil Fruit powers are replicated and whether they’d allow it.

Could S-Hawk’s Sword Have a Devil Fruit?

It’s also possible that S-Hawk’s sword is the one with the Devil Fruit. It could have a Zoan transformation like Spandam’s Funkfreed. This would keep it from being a cheap imitation of Yoru by making it more of its own thing. S-Hawk might even still have his own Devil Fruit power that he can use alongside the sword, though that might be overkill.

Whatever S-Hawk’s Devil Fruit turns out to be, it should be a fearsome power along with the rest of his arsenal. He already has the basic Seraphim traits in addition to his sword skills. To stack a Devil Fruit on top of all of that could put him in a league entirely his own. With all that said, the Ripple-Ripple Fruit might be the safest bet.
