Singer and Wicked star Ariana Grande looks like she’s turned back time as she showed off her new ‘soft and pretty’ baby bangs that has her looking like a teenager again

Ariana Grande is known for iconic hairstyles, and her latest look is definitely up there with her best.

The Thank U, Next singer just revealed her new ultra short baby bangs, and fans have gone wild for her new style.

Her latest hair transformation was shared by celebrity hairstylist Carl Bembridge on his Instagram, and shows Ariana with her hair tied up in a high ponytail – another of Ariana’s signature styles – and her new super short, feathery fringe. Carl captioned the post: “Are we loving the baby bangs on @arianagrande? I think they are so soft and pretty.”

Plenty of other celebrities have been switching up their style in favour of the currently-trending baby bangs, or micro fringe as the style is also known, with Leighton Meester opting for a softer, choppy version, Katy Perry going for an ultra short take on the trend, and Florence Pugh opting for a thicker, blunt cut variation of baby bangs.

Ariana has opted for a much softer, lighter version of the trend, swapping a thick or blunt cut fringe for several wispy strands that skimmed the top of her eyebrows, with some soft face framing layers that hit the top of her cheekbones perfectly.

The singer has also opted for a much lighter hair colour recently, ditching her darker, rich chocolate brown shade, and swapping it for a lighter honey blonde colour that matches her skin tone and makes her look more youthful.

Although not a true baby bang, the style definitely comes close and gives the illusion of a fringe without the commitment of a full fringe. Ariana’s new style is also similar to the wispy bangs style, which is a much softer, more delicate variation of a full fringe, and involves bringing less hair forwards for the chop.

This softer, thinner style of fringe is perfect for those who don’t want to commit to a voluminous or heavy fringe, or who feel like a solid fringe overwhelms their face. Although Ariana has rocked a thicker, full fringe cut before, this new soft, pretty baby bang style suits her delicate bone structure perfectly and doesn’t take over her face, but still adds some structure and shape around it.
