Great! Neymar operated on his right ankle in Qatar: The operation went very smoothly

The Brazilian will be out for the rest of the season

Neymar right ankle operated on in Qatar: The surgery went very well

Brazil’s Neymar, 31, underwent surgery on Friday in Qatar on his right ankle ligament injury, an operation that “went very well,” announced his club Paris Saint-Germain.

The surgery took place at the ASPETR clinic in Doha and was performed by three doctors, including Rodrigo Lasmar of the Brazilian national team, PSG said in a statement.

“The player will maintain from now on a protocol of rest and care,” the report stated.

When announcing that Neymar had to undergo surgery last Monday, PSG revealed that its Brazilian star would have to be out for three to four months, which will mean he will miss the rest of the season.

The most expensive player in history suffered a severe sprain in his right ankle (a joint he has injured repeatedly during his career) during a league match on February 20 against Lille.

Subsequent medical tests showed that Neymar suffered ligament damage, which eventually forced him to undergo surgery again.

Last November, the player suffered a right ankle lateral ligament injury with minor bone edema during the Brazil-Serbia match at the Qatar World Cup, which left him out for the two matches against Switzerland and Cameroon.

Neymar’s injury ordeals

Neymar’s injury absence during his tenure at PSG has amounted to approximately 731 days, that is, two full years.

The Brazilian No.10 has missed every other season in which he has played for PSG since arriving at the Parisian club for the 2017-2018 season

From a competitive standpoint, Neymar has missed a total of 104 games in a PSG shirt.

The Brazilian has played 173 matches across all competitions, meaning he has been injured in approximately 37.5% of the matches in which he has been available for the Parisian club.
