The Red Devils are paying around £2.5million to Besiktas to end his temporary stay in Turkey, with the Burnley striker on his way to United.

Weghorst is due in Manchester on Thursday where he will undergo a medical as Erik ten Hag’s side look to have him available for the City clash.

He must be registered by 12pm on Friday in order to be able to feature against the Premier League champions 24 hours later.

United go into the match in great form having won their last eight successive games in all competitions.

They sit fourth in the table, and know a win against the Citizens will see them trail Pep Guardiola‘s men by just a point.
