The bite was so strong that a white shark’s tooth was thrown out of its mouth as it rushed to the surface to catch the seal.

David Jenkins, 41-year-old British photographer, accidentally captured this unique moment of a great white shark’s bite off the coast of Cape Town, South Africa. The bite was so strong that the shark’s triangular tooth broke and flew several meters away.

Mr Jenkins said: ‘I saw something shoot out when I took the picture. However, everything happened so quickly that I could not see clearly what the object was. After zooming in on the photo and focusing on it, I realized it was a shark’s tooth.”

According to the author, the event took place on a cloudy day, with excellent hunting conditions for the sharks. Overcast skies make it difficult for seals to spot predators. Gray on the back and white on the belly give the ocean killer the perfect camouflage.

“I don’t think the shark will suffer much from the loss of its teeth. In fact, shark teeth only attach to the skin, not grow from the jaw, so it is very easy to break. However, their teeth can grow back after they are lost. A shark can change teeth up to 50,000 times in its lifetime. I hope to see this scene again,” Jenkins said.
