Mark Ruffalo is yet to star in a feature film surrounding his character, Bruce Banner. “So, Marvel brought me in before we shot this (Thor: Ragnarok) and they said that ‘if you had a standalone Hulk movie, what would it be?’ I said it’d be this and this, this and this happened and it ended like that.” He continued, “and he said, ‘how about we take that and stretch that over the next three movies as your character’s and Hulk’s character arc?’”

To this, the actor told them the kind of movie he would prefer and how he would like to see Hulk and Bruce Banner’s characters evolving. He further elaborated on how he would like to see the movie end. Ruffalo then continued to explain that Marvel decided to take what he wanted and instead of making it a singular movie, they divided it into three different movies.
